![]() I recommend using some high temp silicon to seal the new gasket when you put it on. The hardest part of the whole process was getting the old gasket off. Make sure it stays upright so the fluid doesn't settle improperly. Once the fan is out, DO NOT LAY IT ON ITS BACK. Then put the crescent wrench on the nut and pull down with it. Then get on the passenger side of the car and loop the belt wrench around the fan pulley so that you put tension in on it in an upward direction. Getting the fan nut loose is a challenge. Once the two are disconnected, the shroud and fan come right out. I used a 6" belt wrench and a long crescent wrench to get the fan off. You can't get the shroud off with the fan still on though. ![]() There are four bolts (2 per side) holding the shroud on. Obviously, drain the coolant, disconnect the upper and lower hoses, take off the coolant reservoir and the washer fluid tank. ![]() I had to take out the shroud, but not the radiator. I know the body styles changed, but I'm not sure about under the hood. I just changed the water pump in my '01 Ram. ![]()
